Is your social enterprise just a dot on a map?
Do you want a more complete online profile so that others can find out about you more easily. If so just complete this survey
SEontario.org is Ontario’s newest social enterprise community. Currently more than 1,000 social enterprises (SEs) are geomapped on the site, https://seontario.org/semap/. Interesting as this is, people in the sector tell us they want more information to be able to connect and learn about each other and to have others learn about them. CCEDNet-Ontario is collaborating with partners to develop a categorized and fully searchable online directory of Ontario social enterprises.
Social purpose enterprises represent an important part of Canada’s social economy. For this survey, social enterprise is defined as a business venture owned or operated by a nonprofit organization that sells goods or provides services in the market for the purpose of creating a blended return on investment, both financial and social/environmental/cultural. Help us make sure that social purpose enterprises are well represented in this new provincial online SE database.
Do take a look at this pdf of the graphic template being developed and scheduled to go live by the end of July. You can see the criteria we will be using, similar to those in the site Stories section, as well as the kind of summary information and links that will be available about your social enterprise
This survey also provides you the opportunity to include your information in several additional SE related databases.
- We can send your information to be included automatically in the national Social Enterprise Canada Marketplace . If you are interested in being included in this nonprofit SE resource, do make sure to select that option in the survey.
- For those of you in the GTHA (Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area) you can select an option to include your information in the developing database of social enterprises interested in a number of upcoming procurement opportunities including the Pan Am Games and the upcoming Metrolinx Eglinton Crosstown project (see www.communitybenefits.ca for more information).
- A final option is to have your basic contact information and your SE tag to be included as part of socialsca.pe, an international database of projects, people and organizations that identify as part of the social good of their community. This is being spearheaded by Ontario based organizations.
These initiatives will increase the profile of social enterprises and the products and/or services they sell. Do select any options that are relevant to you.
If your organization has multiple social enterprises, please complete a separate survey for each one. Here is the survey link again. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/L5XX5XP
